Disclosures and recognition

Recognising our progress

Commitments and progress refer to Europe unless otherwise stated.

We are committed to being a leader in sustainability in the beverage industry. We set high performance targets for ourselves and believe it is important to report on our progress. Our sustainability performance is assessed by a range of major sustainability indices, responsible investment analysts and other external organisations.

This includes direct engagement via questionnaires, in-depth interviews, desk research and analysis of our publicly disclosed data and sustainability information. Ratings allow investors to assess and track our environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance against objective industry benchmarks. We use the results to help us strengthen our management systems and sustainability reporting processes.

Here are highlights of our latest rankings, awards and recognition:

  • DJSI
  • CDP
  • SASB
  • MSCI
  • FTSE4Good
  • Moody's ESG Solutions
  • EcoVadis

Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP)

CDP is an international non-profit charity that encourages companies and governments to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions, safeguard water resources and protect forests. CDP’s annual A List names the world’s top businesses for environmental performance, based on their disclosures.

We have submitted responses to the CDP Climate list since 2010 and to its water questionnaire since 2012. In 2021, we have been included on the CDP A List for climate change and water security, for the sixth consecutive year.

CCEP is one of 53 companies globally to be listed double CDP A List position for both Climate and Water in 2021. This recognition comes one year on from the launch of CCEP’s ambition to reach net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040 and reflects the progress made on reducing greenhouse gas emissions as part of This is Forward, CCEP’s sustainability action plan. CDP’s annual environmental disclosure and scoring process is widely recognised as the gold standard of corporate environmental transparency.

2020 SASB Index

Since 2019, we report to the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board framework. It builds on our 2020 Integrated Report. The report has been prepared in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) principles at Core level. It has been independently assured by DNV. The work completed by DNV and their conclusion is described in the Independent Assurance Statement.

Currently, we do not track all metrics included in the Non-Alcoholic Beverages Standards, but will work towards including more data in the future.
