Recognising our progress

Commitments and progress refer to Europe unless otherwise stated.

We are committed to being a leader in sustainability in the beverage industry. We set high performance targets for ourselves and believe it is important to report on our progress. Our sustainability performance is assessed by a range of major sustainability indices, responsible investment analysts and other external organisations.

This includes direct engagement via questionnaires, in-depth interviews, desk research and analysis of our publicly disclosed data and sustainability information. Ratings allow investors to assess and track our environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance against objective industry benchmarks. We use the results to help us strengthen our management systems and sustainability reporting processes.

Here are highlights of our latest rankings, awards and recognition:

CDP

CDP is an international non-profit charity that encourages companies and governments to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions, safeguard water resources and protect forests. CDP’s annual A List names the world’s top businesses for environmental performance, based on their disclosures.

We have submitted responses to the CDP Climate list since 2010 and to its water questionnaire since 2012. In 2022, we have been included on the CDP A List for climate change and water security, for the seventh consecutive year.

CCEP is one of a small number of companies that was awarded a double ‘A’ score for leadership in corporate transparency and performance on both climate change and water security, out of more than 10,000 businesses that were reviewed. This reflects our continued progress against the commitments in our This is Forward, CCEP’s sustainability action planwhich has recently been extended to include our markets in Australia, the Pacific and Indonesia. CDP’s annual environmental disclosure and scoring process is widely recognised as the gold standard of corporate environmental transparency.
