Today, Coca-Cola Europacific Partners (CCEP) publishes its latest Sustainability Stakeholder Report, providing an update on the progress the company has made on its sustainability action plan, This is Forward. The report contains a full year of data from 1 January, 2021 to 31 December, 2021 and for the first time since the acquisition of Coca-Cola Amatil in 2021, covers CCEP’s global business operations in both Europe and Australia, the Pacific and Indonesia (API).

2021 Sustainability Stakeholder Report Highlights

CCEP has made important progress, including:

  • Three of its manufacturing sites in Europe have been certified as carbon neutral, according to the international standard PAS 2060. Five more sites aim to follow by the end of 2023.
  • In Australia and Indonesia, CCEP has invested in joint ventures to build three PET plastic recycling plants to expand the supply of recycled PET plastic in those markets.
  • CCEP has introduced newly designed lighter weight necks on PET bottles for its carbonated soft drinks in Germany. The new bottles will be implemented across Europe saving 6,800 tonnes of plastic a year by 2024.
  • Its entire third-party logistics fleet in the Netherlands has switched to biofuel, reducing GHG emissions by up to net 90% compared to the use of fossil fuels.
  • Its manufacturing site in Dongen, the Netherlands was awarded a platinum certification – the highest level of certification – for sustainable water stewardship by the global Alliance for Water Stewardship (AWS).
  • We recorded 17,510 hours volunteered by our employees in Europe and API to support local community projects in 2021.

2021 also saw further external recognition of CCEP’s action on sustainability; including listings on CDP’s prestigious ‘A’ list for climate and water stewardship and on the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) – for the sixth consecutive year. CCEP was also included on the Financial Times-Statista list of Europe’s Climate Leaders, and the 2022 Bloomberg Gender Equality Index for the second year running.

Following the acquisition of Coca-Cola Amatil in May 2021, CCEP is updating its sustainability action plan, for publication later in 2022, with renewed commitments to take action on sustainability, incorporating its markets in API.

The release of the Sustainability Stakeholder Report follows the recent publication of CCEP’s 2021 integrated report which outlines progress on our sustainability commitments alongside our annual financial performance.

The Sustainability Stakeholder Report is available online on CCEP’s website and can be accessed here.

CCEP’s sustainability commitments are aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
