We have been producing some of the world’s most loved soft drinks in Germany since 1929.
We have about 60 different products with and without sugar, for every taste and occasion, in our portfolio in Germany with our most popular being
Coca-Cola Original Taste.
With around 7,000 employees, we proudly serve 325,000 customer outlets, including some of Germany’s biggest brands – Rewe, Edeka, Aldi, Metro, Burger King and Subway.
Production of Coca-Cola ceased during the Second World War due to lack of raw materials, so we began making Fanta in Germany instead by gathering together some readily available ingredients. Production of Coca-Cola didn’t begin again until 1949.
mezzo mix is a popular local drink and also first introduced by Germany in 1973 – it’s a mix of Coca-Cola and Fanta.
Across our portfolio in Germany, Coca-Cola Trademark has the largest volume share.
Our best-selling product is Coca-Cola Original Taste which makes up 44% of our total sales volume.
In 2021, we made great progress towards reaching 100% recycled PET (rPET) in our bottles: In Germany, the following brands and packs are now made from 100% rPET
We’re also aiming to convert our entire fleet of service and commercial vehicles in Germany to electric by 2025 – and we increasingly use rail for long distance transports of our products.
We continue to support local community partnerships – such as longstanding partners National Natural Landscapes, German Food Banks and Deutschlandstiftung Integration. In 2020, our total community investment contribution in Germany was more than €560,000.
Coca-Cola has a long history in Germany and we are incredibly proud to support the communities where we operate – employing, investing, manufacturing and distributing locally.
Our experience as a global business, with local expertise and knowledge, ensure we are the best partner to our customers by helping them grow their business, and providing some of the world’s most loved brands to delight their consumers.
We are focused on sustainable growth and a green future. We are always looking at ways to reduce, reuse and recycle our packaging and have hit a significant milestone in 2021 by moving to 100% recycled plastic bottles for a number of our brands in Germany. We are also implementing initiatives across our supply chain that will help our business be more efficient, such as investing €5m in a new reusable glass bottle production at our site in Knetzgau, Germany.
