Coffee is one of the world’s most popular beverages and it remains a big opportunity for our business with a €75 billion retail sales value across our markets1.
It is also an integral part of our total beverage company vision and can help our customers grow by catering for different consumer drinking motivations, moments and occasions.
We are really excited about Costa Coffee and the opportunities this great brand will bring to our business and the added value it will create for our customers. We are accelerating our coffee ambition by readily expanding the brand across our markets in Western Europe with different coffee solutions in multiple channels:
Delivering barista quality coffee made with fresh beans and milk at the touch of a button
Costa Coffee expertly served by our hospitality partners
The great taste of Costa Coffee chilled in a can to enjoy on-the-go

We are providing real coffee expertise through our dedicated coffee sales teams who can deliver strong execution capabilities and service to our customers. We are already making great progress.
Costa Coffee landed at Brussels Airport in early 2021. The six Costa self-serve machines can deliver up to 100,000 cups of coffee per year, helping to keep the 25 million passengers that usually pass through the airport refreshed.
We are accelerating our rollout of Costa self-serve machines and Proud-to-Serve with our hospitality and away-from-home customers. During the initial launch phase we are focusing on four key cities – Brussels, Antwerp, Ghent, Liège – and after three months we already have 120 customers.
Costa Coffee initially launched in Berlin and Cologne, with a focus on Costa Express and Proud-to-Serve in the away-from-home market in 2020. We have now started to rollout in more cities across Germany and have around 120 customers.
We’ve also introduced Costa Coffee Ready-to-Drink which is available in around 2,600 customer outlets – including EDEKA, Rewe, Getränke Hoffmann and Lekkerland. It is also available online through Amazon.
We have also started sampling in Cologne, Dusseldorf and Berlin to introduce more Costa Coffee drinks to consumers.
Costa Coffee launched in Norway in June 2021 with six Express machines installed at zoo and amusement park customer, Dyreparken. The first Proud-to-Serve outlet opened at BI Norwegian Business School in August, and the team will launch several Proud-to-Serve outlets in the hospitality market before the end of the year.
In July this year we launched Costa Coffee in Spain. Our first Express machines have already been installed in a number of Cepsa petrol stations, with the aim of reaching 100 machines in customer outlets by the end of this year.
We will continue to expand our range and reach in the markets where we have already launched Costa Coffee. We have an ambition to rollout in every Western European market by 2025.
We also have some great brands in our Australia, Pacific and Indonesia (API) Business Unit, such as Grinders Coffee, Barista Bros, Halo, and Zephyr Coffee Co – while Monster Espresso offers a great opportunity to energy drink fans and Monster brand fans.
Our coffee portfolio - led by Costa Coffee - is helping us grow, create value for our customers and attract more coffee lovers to our range of products.
