Forward on climate

Taking action to tackle climate change

The world is at a critical point and we must all play our part to cut Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions, to limit global temperature increase to 1.5°C in line with the 2015 Paris Climate Change Agreement, and protect the future of our planet.

Our efforts in reducing green house gas emission lies on three important efforts: improving energy efficiency and shifting towards renewable energy.

Our actions on climate helps us to support UN Sustainable Development Goal 7 and UN Sustainable Development Goal 13.

Our Climate Ambition

Reducing Our Absolute Green House Gas Emission (GHG) by 30% by 2030 (Net Zero Emissions by 2040)

Our focus will be on reducing GHG emissions across our value chain. We are taking action to achieve this goal by shifting to using renewable electricity, reducing the energy intensity of our cold drink equipment, and building our decarbonization map.

Inauguration of The Biggest Solar Panel Roof In Manufacturing Facilities In South East Asia

We inaugurated the largest solar panel roof installation in a production facility in South East Asia – panels covering 72,000 square metres and valued at USD 5.8 million (IDR 87 billion).

The installed panels at our Bekasi 1 manufacturing facility the panels will generate 7.134 MW peak of electricity, which is enough to cut carbon emissions by 8,000 metric tons per year.

Energy Management System

We are also promoting the implementation of energy efficiency.  As the company with the highest owned coolers in South Asia, we equipped our refrigerators with energy management systems that are able to detect user’s behavioural patterns to save energy.

Since 2016, we have converted our lighting systems to LED (Light Emitting Diode) based lighting technology throughout our facilities. The installation of LED lighting has reduced energy consumption by 496,246 kWh which contributes to a reduction in carbon emissions by 385 tones.

Other initiatives we are undertaking are the conversion of boilers, power plants and forklift energy from solar to natural gas and compressed natural gas in 2008. Over the past three years, we have replaced solar with more environmentally friendly energy, namely LNG and LPG.

We also continue to optimize the efficiency of energy used in operations, including the use of integrated systems and automatic sensor technology for engines, lighting, automatic shutdown and start-up processes, maintenance systems, and others
