Building Environmental Awareness in Ramadan: Collaboration between CCEP Indonesia and Islamic Boarding Schools

To strengthen social and environmental commitment during Ramadan, Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Indonesia (CCEP Indonesia) is holding a series of activities with several selected Islamic boarding schools throughout Indonesia from 26 to 28 March 2024. This program is entitled "Holy Ramadan, Clean Ramadan" (Ramadan Suci, Ramadan Bersih). It is designed to unite the values of togetherness and environmental sustainability.

Islamic boarding schools, as educational institutions combining physical and spiritual learning, were chosen because they are crucial in forming character and increasing environmental awareness among students. "Through 'Holy Ramadan, Clean Ramadan', we want to encourage students to become agents of change in their communities, understanding the importance and adopting important values of cleanliness and environmental sustainability through the importance of the responsible waste collection," said Lucia Karina, PACS Director at CCEP Indonesia.

This program includes a waste management workshop to educate students about the importance of sorting waste and establishing a waste bank and a heart-warming iftar, strengthening the bond between students and Islamic boarding school staff. This activity reached thousands of students and donated 23 trash cans, reflecting a joint effort to educate and encourage better environmental management practices.
