River Clean Up and Trees Planting in Bekasi

Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Indonesia together with Bambu Foundation and the local community held an action to clean the river and plant trees

Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Indonesia (CCEP Indonesia), through Bekasi 1 Plant, together with Bambu Foundation and the local community held an action to clean the river and plant trees, on Thursday (27/1). This activity is part of the water resources conservation movement, especially in the Sadang and Cikedokan Watersheds, Sukadanau Village, West Cikarang District.

 

Also present at this event, were representatives of the Regional Technical Implementation Unit (UPTD) 3 of the Bekasi Regency Environmental Service (DLH), Capt. Inf. Aswan Siregar, representative of the Sector 20 Citarum Harum Task Force; and representatives of the Sukadanau Village community.

 

Aswan Siregar appreciated the steps taken by CCEP Indonesia in river conservation efforts this time. He hopes that this activity can be the first step towards environmental awareness movements, especially those related to river flow in Bekasi Regency.

 

As one of the companies operating in the Bekasi Regency, CCEP Indonesia feels the need to take part in environmental conservation efforts, including in rivers around the operational area. This is also part of the company's priority in efforts to regenerate water through the conservation of water resources. “This activity is our commitment to care for the environment. Hopefully, this is a good start in the process of conserving water resources in rivers in Bekasi Regency," said Nurlida Fatmikasari, Regional Corporate Affairs Manager, CCEP Indonesia.

 

Around 20 participants, consisting of representatives of CCEP Indonesia employees and KSKC volunteers, took part in this activity. With the full support of the local government, through the Regional Technical Implementation Unit (UPTD) 3 of the Bekasi Regency Environmental Service, this cleanup activity was successful in collecting 1,710 kilograms of waste and planting more than 200 bamboo and other types of tree seedlings, along the flow of the Sadang-Cikedokan River, Sukadanau Village, West Cikarang District. On this occasion also carried out the release of wild quail into the Sadang River ecosystem.
