CCEP Indonesia Receives Renewable Energy Award in West Java Summit 2022

CCEP Indonesia received the Renewable Energy Award from the Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil, as one of the leading companies contributing to renewable energy investment through the development of Rooftop Solar Power Plants (PLTS) in Indonesia. The Renewable Energy Award was handed over by Ridwan Kamil to company representatives directly in the West Java Investment Summit 2022 event on October 5, at the Trans Convention Center, Bandung. The event was also attended by Swedish Trade Representatives, Italian Trade Representatives, Heads of District/Municipal Governments throughout West Java and various representatives from the industrial world.
The award was received by Lucia Karina, our Public Affairs, Communications and Sustainability (PACS) Director. She said that one of the company's commitments in environmental sustainability is to play an active role in limiting the increase in global temperature to no more than 1.5 degrees Celsius. Coca-Cola Europacific Partners as a group are committed to decarbonizing their business and achieving zero emissions by 2040 – 10 years earlier than the Paris Climate agreement. In the West Java region, CCEP Indonesia has installed solar panels on the roof of the Bekasi-1 Plant production facility, in West Cikarang. This initiative is in line with the Indonesian government's efforts to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 29% or equivalent to 314 million tons of carbon dioxide by 2030.
Other renewable energy projects supported by CCEP Indonesia include: replacement of all fossil fuels to natural gas, automation project for manufacturing facility, development of Coca-Cola Forest, plastic bottle recycling facilities, LED lights in all facilities, energy saving coolers in the market, replacement of granular sugar into liquid sugar. We also actively train and socialize to employees and partners on the importance of decarbonization efforts.
