CCEP Indonesia was one of the speakers in a talk show about waste organized by the Bekasi Regency Government. This activity is one of the efforts to explore efforts to overcome waste issues in Bekasi Regency. This regency is experiencing a waste emergency because people are less concerned about the environment, so the waste disposed of in the Burangkeng Final Disposal Site (TPA) exceeds capacity.
The event entitled "Building Our Spirit, Process Our Waste from Home" was specially opened by the Acting Regent of Bekasi on 24 November and attended by more than 120 participants. CCEP Indonesia shared experiences and programs known as a company with concerns regarding this waste issue.
On behalf of the company, Nurlida Fatmikasari (Regional Corporate Affairs Manager) conveyed that many sustainability initiatives have been carried out in Bekasi. Those include the Bestari Village program, collaboration with several communities such as Bekasi Waste Bank Forum through training, waste management training to how CCEP Indonesia is committed to managing waste downstream through the development of a PET waste management company through PT Amandina.
"So far, we have carried out concrete actions by carrying out activities based on waste management with the surrounding community, community, government as a whole, including tackling waste problems by building an rPET manufacturing facility," stated Nurlida.
