TADOLOVA (Reach Out) is our Graduate Trainee Program for future leadership positions within our business. We focus on fast-track, structured development, looking to sustain high levels of performance and maximise potential.

 

Over a period of 24 months, this graduate trainee program allows you to explore the brewing and associated process areas within our Operations function under Paradise Beverages (Fiji) Limited. You will gain valuable insights into the business of manufacturing alcoholic beverages, as well as into the specific aspects of Packaging, Supply Chain, Sales & Marketing, Finance and Administration.

 

Our Graduate Trainee Program is tailored to give future leaders a firm professional grounding and provide Paradise Beverages with top talents in our future business.


We are seeking Science graduates from recognized tertiary institutions for our Graduate Trainee Program – Brewing, to develop our future leaders for the Fiji Brewery. This program requires enthusiastic and competent graduates who have an urge to pursue a rewarding career in the Brewing industry. The selected candidate will undergo comprehensive training, both in technical as well as professional and leadership skills. After successful completion of the Program, the candidate will be placed in their respective role within the Brewing Team with continuous development for future leadership roles.

 

Eligibility Criteria

 

  • Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Food Technology, Electronics, and/or Instrumentation & Controls
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Maximum age 24 years as at 31 December 2022
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

PACKAGING OPERATOR (RE-ADVERSTISED)

We are looking for a Packaging Operator that will be reporting directly into the Packaging Supervisor and based at our Fiji Brewery, Walu Bay, Suva. The Packaging Operator will be responsible for working with the packaging team in running the packaging line equipment in a safe, clean, efficient and cost-effective manner that delivers production schedules during a given shift.  The primary goal of this role is to safely operate and maintain defined packaging equipment (process areas which have a bigger business impact with cost and consumer quality) and related processes to achieve optimal effectiveness. The role will be involved in many aspects of the production, packaging, and operations of the Fiji Brewery.

 

Key aspects of this role include;

 

  • Prepare and ensure the machines and associated equipment are started as per WI and at the correct time for production.
  • Conduct quality check for incoming packaging material and recording of packaging material usage
  • Perform in-depth cleaning of machines and equipment as planned to achieve maximum efficiency and effectiveness. 
  • Observe and practice established safety procedures including the proper use of all PPE, this may include but is not limited to; voluntary respirators, bump caps, safety shoes, hearing protection, and eye protection in conjunction with all GMP regulations during operation.
  • Be safety-minded, efficient, quality-focused, creative, have a great work ethic and attendance record, a positive attitude, adaptable/flexible and dedicated to being a great team member.

 

Career Experience and Qualification 

 

Ideally, you will have:

 

  • A minimum of Diploma / Trade certificate level in related field
  • At least 2 years of relevant brewery packaging experience in the food & beverage manufacturing industry
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency across all processes & equipment’s with the right attitude and behavior
  • Basic computer skills (MS, Typing, E-mail communications & Spreadsheet)
  • Forklift certification preferred but not required
  • English Language - Must be able to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and written.
  • Production and Processing - Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Ability to meet physical challenges of working in a production brewery:
  • Maneuver a 50ltr kegs and/or Lift 9ltrs cases repeatedly (16oz cases)
  • Stand for long periods
  • Attention to Detail - Job requires being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks.
  • Dependability - Job requires being reliable, responsible, dependable, and fulfilling obligations.

  • Must demonstrate willingness to upgrade/develop skills and apply them to any task and/or area assigned to by superiors
  • Must have the flexibility to perform any other task assigned by Superiors as and when required.
  • Ability to work in all assigned areas of Packaging; perform relief duties when required.
  • Must be able to transition to any Work Area, Shift or Department as and when required.

ASSISTANT BREWING OPERATOR (RE-ADVERSTISED)

We are looking for a Assisting Brewing Operator that will be reporting directly into the Supervisor Brewing and based at our Fiji Brewery, Walu Bay, Suva. The Assistant Brewing Operator will be responsible for ensuring that Beer Brewed and Filtered are within specifications and have the right first-time results.  The primary goal of this role is to be responsible for all brewing practices, day to day production at the brewery, inventory management, cleaning & maintenance of the brewing facility and all associated equipment and supplies, and all record-keeping related to the foregoing. The role will be involved in many aspects of the production, packaging, and operations of the Fiji Brewery.

 

Key aspects of this role include;  

  • Ensure work carried out is OHS compliant.
  • Ensure that Beer Brewed and Filtered complies with the PBL Quality Matrix.
  • Assist Filter and Brew leading hand in brewhouse operations.
  • Ensure correct checklists are filled and correct materials are used in process.
  • Ensure the importance of (RFT) Right First Time.
  • Run the filter and brew during the absence of leading hands.
  • Carry out RTD mixing.
  • CIP brew and process vessels and lines.
  • Carry out Green beer/Fermenter operations and yeast harvest.
  • Operate racking plant.
  • Be safety-minded, efficient, quality-focused, creative, have a great work ethic and attendance record, a positive attitude, adaptable/flexible and dedicated to being a great team member.

 

Career Experience and Qualification  

 

Ideally, you will have:

 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Science or Engineering (Certificate/Diploma/Degree)
  • Experience in Manufacturing Industry/ Hygiene and GMP
  • Knowledge of relevant standards and legislation
  • Knowledge of brewing operations and key plant equipment
  • Knowledge of plant, and process
  • Ability to trouble shoot.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work with team environment.
  • Must demonstrate willingness to upgrade/develop skills and apply them to any task and/or area assigned to by superiors
