As part of CCEP Australia’s NAIDOC Week 2022 activities, teams across the country came together to celebrate the installation of new Acknowledgment of Country plaques at our operational sites.

Though a small step on our journey towards reconciliation, these plaques are an important and formal recognition of First Nations people who we acknowledge as the traditional owners and ongoing custodians of the land on which we live, work and play.

Designed by Indigenous artist Simone Thomsen of Little Rocket, the plaque design centres on the native banksia to tell a story of change, adaptation, and growth; symbols that resonate strongly with our Australian business in light of its transition to become part of the global CCEP family.

Celebrations at our offices and sites saw our people come together to mark the occasion with traditional smoking ceremonies and a Sea of Hands, where employees made personal commitments to reconciliation.  Our team based at Richlands, QLD, also raised the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags, which will be permanent fixtures at the site moving forward, flying proudly alongside the Australian flag, the Queensland flag, and the Coca-Cola Europacific Partners flag.
