SPRITE: THE WINGMAN TO SPICY FOOD
As part of Sprite’s ongoing global ‘Heat Happens’ campaign that encourages people to ‘stay cool’ when things get heated, Sprite has been highlighting how it is the perfect sidekick for any spice kick!
With one 1 in every 3 meals consumed in GB containing spice[1] and the hot and spicy snacks category growing by 9% year-on-year[2], Sprite’s Lemon and Lime refreshment can help shoppers ‘stay cool’ during spicy food consumption occasions.
To help customers take advantage of this cross-category opportunity, Sprite is partnering with popular mealtime occasions and brands including Pringles Hot! to create eye catching cross-category point-of-sale materials (POS) to help retailers drive linked meals and snacking purchases in-store.
Fiery Hot & Classic Cool
Convenience retailers can request Pringles Hot! and Sprite POS materials and download digital assets via My.CCEP.com to help bring the campaign to life in-store and drive sales.
Kate Abbotson, Convenience Environment Lead a Coca-Cola Europacific Partners GB, manufacturer and supplier of Sprite commented, ‘Recent research has shown that activating occasion-led messaging at point of purchase where food and drink are merchandised together can double shopper engagement and increase sales by up to 32%[3], so we’d encourage convenience retailers to get activating in-store and appeal to shoppers who want spicy food and a refreshing soft drink.”
Sprite has been encouraging consumers to immerse themselves in the thrill of spice this year and this follows the arrival of new formulations for both Sprite and Sprite Zero Sugar last year, which are delivering an enhanced crisp lemon-lime flavour in a new look visual identity.
